CDN Logistics, Inc. is one of the most successful and fastest growing nationwide Truckload/LTL carriers specializing in the transportation of general commodities, is looking for serious minded experienced driver recruiters for our corporate headquarters located in Northlake, IL. CDN currently operates a fleet of over 300 power units and over 500 trailers through a network of 8 terminals across the United States. Our drivers are generally independent contractors who lease their units to CDN Logistics, Inc.

It is the responsibility of the driver recruiter to recruit potential Owner Operators, Singles, two-man teams and supplement terminal needs as well. The driver recruiter will have responsibilities for overseeing all aspects of the recruiting program and will assist our senior management and terminal managers in the implementation of our driver retention programs.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Management of the company's regional and national driver recruiting efforts to include traditional methods of driver recruitment as well as a use of the internet. Candidate will also be expected to develop new and innovative recruitment programs
  • Must be able to articulate all aspects of the company's driver pay program and protocol including rates, settlement deductions as well as insurance and other driver programs.
  • Coordination with the company's terminal managers regarding their driver recruiting efforts.
  • Oversight and participation of the company's annual recruiting budget.
  • Assistance with the development of new retention programs, recognition programs, safety goals and graduated pay scales that factor safe driving miles.

Administrative duties:

  • Placement of Internet and print advertisement.
  • Field calls from potential drivers.
  • Qualify candidates including background checks, references, DAC reports and MVR's.
  • Oversee drug and alcohol screening.
  • Coordinate new driver attendance at orientation.

Safety Administrative Assistant

Job Description

Report to: Safety Mgr

Job Summary: Assists in the qualification of drivers and dock-men, tracks expiration dates, updates required documents and maintains files per DOT Driver Qualification File regulations. Assists with auditing and forwarding Fuel/Road taxes for local and dedicated fleets. Assists in auditing driver paperwork including drivers logs and inputting trip information into payroll system. Assists in preparing and maintaining accident files. Assists with data input of maintenance & safety departments, generating management reports for the departments. Assist with general office duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Input repair orders and parts invoices into the Keller Maintenance Manager program.
  • Filing of invoices and repair orders into equipment files.
  • Generate management reports for maintenance Department as scheduled
  • Collect and audit drivers Trip Reports all operations, forward on and verify receipt by Aable Licensing.
  • Inspect, scan, and audit drivers logs.
  • Generate management reports on log auditing results.
  • Create and maintain Driver Qualification Files.
  • Review all expiration dates with drivers, insure all renewals are completed on a timely basis.
  • Track accident files insure all necessary documentation is obtained.
  • Notify insurance through use of Accord reports as needed.
  • Track accidents by documentation in Accident Register, Safe Driving Reports.
  • Generate management reports for Safety Dept.
  • Assist in Drug & Alcohol testing programs as needed.
  • Assists in developing, organizing, and presenting training materials for orientations.
  • Assists in processing driver paperwork and preparing payroll.
  • Cross trains on other Admin duties, and functions as back-up as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • General knowledge of transportation industry.
  • General knowledge of various government regulatory agencies
  • Ability to learn various regulations that apply to the position.
  • Good organizational skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Skill to use a personal computer and various software packages.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
  • Ability to identify, report, and execute on recurring problems.

Credentials and Experience

  • High school degree required
  • Associate degree in a two year college a plus
  • 1-2 years experience in Transportation, previous safety experience a plus.

Special Requirements
Willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as requested by Manager. Flexible to work over multiple shifts. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
